‘Soft Tidal Creeks’ is now on show at Pocock’s the Artmonger Gallery in Burnham Market – I loved painting this one.
These recent paintings are influence by my inspiring stay at the Watch House at Blakeney Point. The soft tones and tactile elements of the mixed media reflects the mood and ambience experienced whilst sketching the creeks.

Busy getting everything finished off, framed and ready for my solo show at Pocock’s the Artmonger Gallery in Burnham Market. For those who enjoy seeing sketchbooks I shall have mine on display showing how I use mixed media in my sketches giving an insight into the process of creating the finished paintings. I’m holding a one day workshop at Norfolk Creative Arts in Grimston, in west Norfolk, on Saturday 1st July.
Enjoy a day to loosen up and explore abstract florals. The workshop will teach you how to paint abstract flowers start-to-finish. To begin you will explore flower drawing using contour lines and compose some thumbnail sketches. Then you will discover exciting colour schemes using mixed media to create your bold expressive floral painting. Develop your painting skills and learn different techniques with confidence and a lot of fun!

With the joys of Spring light flooding through the studio I’m enjoying watching the garden bursting into new life with lots of colourful bulbs. I love May, as it’s a time to declutter and get ready for the first of my Creative Art Workshops. In Norwich I have two paintings on show at the Spring Exhibition at Mandell’s Gallery on Elm Hill. Also I’ve been creating a vibrant selection of new work for the annual Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios which opens 27th May till Sunday 11th June. My studio will be open for three weekends 27/28th May but not the bank Holiday Monday! 3/4th and 10/11th June. Time 10-5pm.

My painting ‘Something Within’ is now on display as part of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours at the Mall Galleries in London. The 205th Exhibition of the Royal Institute will be held as in previous years at the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1, from 6-22 April, open 10am to 5pm daily, (closed all day on Easter Sunday, 16 April). If anyone is interesting in a free ticket then do let me know.

This artwork ‘Bright Blue Sea & Sky’ is now on show at Pocock’s the Artmongers in Burnham Market.
Lots of new work coming together for exhibitions this summer and preparing two works for Cley17 – images of work in progress to follow and I shall be updating my portfolio page shortly.
My creative art workshops are now fully booked, however I’m thinking of holding another if there’s enough interest on Saturday 8th July – so do get in touch if you’d like to take part. I also welcome studio visits if you’re interested in any of my art works.

Meanwhile back in the studio I’m preparing lots of new work and loving it! As the days are still pretty short still it helps to concentrate the mind as I find painting with quick bursts of energy very good for getting something onto the canvas and for the soul!
