This month I’ve been working on a new collection of paintings on paper and panel. With Christmas fast approaching, giving the gift of a painting can be very special and also helps to solve those present list problems! This new collection called ‘Paintings for Presents is being released to my subscribers first. A fresh collection of seascapes will be available to buy. These smaller pieces would make a wonderful Christmas gift.

‘Sea Lagoon’ has just been delivered to Sea Pictures Gallery in Clare, Suffolk.

Artist Tracey Ross Norfolk Open Studios — Norfolk Open Studios

I’m opening for three weekends: 24th, 25th September and 1st, 2nd,

I’m number (091) in the Open Studios brochure. Did you know I’m part of two art trials this year. One with Nicholas Elliott (088), who lives not far from me in Fakenham, and the second one is with the North Norfolk Painters Art Trail alongside Sara Reavell Dyson (090), Frank Chapman (089), and Seawolf Self (081). So if you fancy making a day of it then come and see us and experience some creativity!

As well as a mix of artwork, there will be a selection of my sketchbooks on display for you to look through.

New for 2021 North Norfolk Studios 29th May – 6th June

This is a new adventure and opportunity for artists living in North Norfolk. I’m looking forward to opening my studio from the 29th May – 6th June. I’ll be open everyday 10.00am – 5.00pm.

I’m participating in an art trail called ‘Colourful Coast’. There are three of us taking part, Nicholas Elliott lives in Fakenham and Vanda Richards in Colkirk, just outside Fakenham. I’ve posted some examples of their work and we’re very much look forward to seeing you.

North Norfolk Studios — Opening my studio 29th May – 6th June 2021

Come and enjoy the pretty cottage garden and the lovely views from the studio. Social distancing measures will be in place.

Donated to James’ Place in Liverpool

Thanks to my wonderful daughter for bringing this good cause to my attention.

I felt I wanted to help raise awareness so I’ve happily donated this painting to help support and raise money for @jamesplaceuk. James’ Place is a charity in Liverpool which helps to support men who are at risk, and may be suffering from anxiety and suicidal thoughts. I’m thrilled to hear that ‘Day Light’ 46x46cm was sold within two weeks of me posting it to them!

Christmas Open Studio Event

Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd December. Time 10.00am till 3.30pm

This will be my first ever Christmas open studio. Lots of fresh artwork on display together with prints and cards. Offering a warm welcome, mince pies and hot mulled wine. More details about this exciting event is on my News section…

Bright crisp November days are here and there’s a chilly nip in the air. However, in keeping with the rich autumnal hues I have been inspired by the beautiful views around my studio and coastal walks, creating several new paintings for galleries here and abroad. Top tip! with shorter days it’s always challenging to keep ahead of the fading light during my painting sessions and it’s never a good idea to mix paint under artificial lights, mainly as they completely change the tonal values, so always mix enough paint to see you through!

L I G H T 14th – 29th July 2018

Now open – my largest solo show to date at Salthouse Church. Free entry. All welcome, there is disabled parking and access to the church.

This exhibition explores the theme of LIGHT, inspired by my sketching walks where I enjoy embracing the beautiful light and colours of the North Norfolk coastline. Enjoy browsing through my sketchbooks and seeing a diverse range of mixed media paintings on display. Open every day 10.30am – 5pm. Exhibition continues until the 29th July.

After the reflections during the Easter break, it’s back to the studio happily creating new work for the annual Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios 2018. I really enjoy taking part is this event as it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new and regular visitors. The free brochures are out and should be available in lots of shops, libraries and galleries around Norfolk as well as online. This year I’m enjoying working on several small scale 15x15cm paintings as well as showing a new selection of prints and greeting cards – everything is for sale! My studio is open 26/27/28 May 2/3/9/10 June. time 10.00am till 5.00pm. It is listed on page 33 of the yellow Open Studios booklet and my ID number is 113. Please come along and say ‘hello’.
