I treasure and reflect on my studies as gathered in a collection of sketchbooks. Having figuratively captured the spontaneous energy and release of nature I then explore this dialogue by responding to the marks made. Identifying a specific dynamic to an exact location is both a highly personal and rewarding experience. It waits then to be translated onto canvas. From sketch onto canvas the painting journey becomes not only one of emotion and memory but one of joyful awakening.
