I’m Tracey an artist and art tutor.
This is where you can get to know more about what drives me to create the work I do and how I love sharing it. I believe there is creativity in all of us and that we were born to create and make the art that is unique to each of us – to make the art that only you can create.
For years I’ve been observing the North Norfolk coast, bringing everything I know to create paintings to cherish and enjoy. It’s the place I spend a lot of my time walking with my sketchbook observing and drawing. It is a place where I feel a connection, a sense of presence. I then reflect on the studies once back at my studio surrounded by views of undulating countryside.
Painting to capture the beauty of Creation along the North Norfolk coast, with its creeks, skies and expansive beaches, has become, for me, an exciting spiritual journey on canvas. I find that painting in a semi-abstract style using mixed media and acrylics will enable my paintings to reveal a deeper mystery.
The horizon is my focal point and my sketchbooks give insight into how I work as an artist; rapidly drawing my feelings of a place through mark making is key to recalling all the energy I sense when sketching the fleeting and ethereal light. Often on these coastal walks, my passion for the work grows, not only in an emotional response but also a spiritual one, sensing the joy of my Creator. Capturing the seasonal elements along the coast always delights me; the fiery hues of a blazing sunset, the misty sea frets together with the clarity of light on a bright breezy day. They all seem to come alive, conveying an intense visual experience which speaks to my heart expressing the colour and thanksgiving that I feel as an artist.
I believe there is creativity in all of us and that we were born to create and make the art that is unique to each of us – to make the art that only you can create with this in mind, in early 2022 I launched my first online 4-week art course called ‘Paint the Light’
